A Night in San Diego: Coronado

A NIGHT IN SAN DIEGO: CORONADO

Boy, I am really taking a liking to blogging. Just saying the word feels like a piece of ham or bacon flopping in your mouth!

Anyways....

Last week, Sara and I visited Coronado to shoot some lovely night photography. Mainly got photos of downtown San Diego across the bay which came out great! (A lot better than when I came down here before!) Below is the collection of  those shots. I did shoot a lot more than this because I was experimenting with different exposure times and white balance settings and these were the best ones (in my opinion) but I will let you guys decide.

In case you are wondering, those streaks of light in the water are part of a boat going through the picture. I kinda like it better with the boat.

And just to prove I was not fixated on shooting the same scenery and I am not completely boring, here are the other photos I shot while down in Coronado.

I was just walking around when I accidentally hit the button and this is what came out. I kinda like it.

Thats that. I will post my old Downtown pics below but as always, thanks for visiting. Please comment or send me an email if you have any questions on anything related. Time to go to Flickr! You can also follow me there as well by clicking here.

SEE YOU NEXT POST!

Nature & Animals

Last week I went on a hike with a buddy and shot a lot of outdoors photos at Mission Trails. In that same week, I did a photoshoot of some energetic pups that were running around non-stop. I have pictures from both of those events right here, woo! a two for one deal!

Mostly dogs for the animals since they have been the animal that has mainly been finding their way in front of my camera lens (and my cats are too lazy to pose for me).

Up close picture of the river down below.

Weird Much?

The butterfly pic above makes me wish I had a macro lens so I could get more detail of the insect.

If you have any questions then please ask me here or by email at Garrett.Steppat@gmail.com

Comments on any of the photos are welcome! I will probably be adding more in the near future (so stay tuned for that).
Im upgrading my photo editing software next week! Which means more photos will be appearing since it will be easier to edit many more photos or manipulate them differently.

See you next time!

I guess modeling shoots still fall under the technical term of Portrait Photography

For the past several years, I have always wanted to shoot GOOD portrait photography. There has always been this artistic nature that I love about it that always draws me closer and closer to reading more about it. I have shot good portrait photos before in the past but it was only two different people and on one of the photoshoots, I thought it looked crappy (even though I did not notice that a good number of them came out but I was still too stupid to realize what was good or bad photography 2 or 3 years ago). So recently I shot some photos of my good friend Tanisha in order to put to practice some of the techniques I have been reading about. She happily accepted the photoshoot offer and below are the proofs of that shoot. Scroll down to view a lot of the good ones I took.Constructive criticism is much appreciated!

So far I have been getting commentary that the photos look very "urban".

She was having a lot of fun with it.

Her head came out a little fuzzy but I thought it still looked interesting, especially with the fountain behind her.

Some articles I was reading said that models need to practice their poses and that the type of clothing  (if any) had to match the environment. Well Tanisha was working her poses the whole time, with little direction from me. She was a complete natural and posed as if she has been doing it for years.  Who says a model has to practice her poses in a mirror?

I will be posting more from the photoshoot on to my Flickr account so be on the look out for that. Also, comments and emails about anything involving the photos (Keep it clean) or photo locations are more than welcome!
